Last Updated: October 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SlideNote (“SlideNote,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the SlideNote website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

01

Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account or sign in to SlideNote, we receive basic account information, such as your email address, display name, and profile photo.

Application Data: We store the slide files you upload, extracted slide data, notes, highlights, transcripts, AI-generated outputs, preferences, and other content you create while using SlideNote.

AI Feature Inputs: When you use AI-powered features, relevant content from your slides, notes, or transcripts may be processed as inputs to generate the requested AI outputs.

Audio Input: When you activate transcription, audio is streamed to a third-party speech recognition provider for real-time processing.

Usage Information: We collect information about your use of SlideNote, including transcription sessions, file upload activity, and usage records, to manage usage limits, support billing, and maintain the Service.

Technical and Service Information: We and our service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, and security or diagnostic logs to operate, protect, and improve SlideNote.

Analytics Information: We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use our website and application and to improve usability. Depending on the service and privacy settings, usage information may include pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, browser and device details, screen dimensions, approximate location, and identifiers. Clarity provides behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay features; availability depends on consent and configuration.

Billing Information: When you purchase a subscription, we collect subscription and purchase records. Full payment card details are handled by our payment provider.

Contact Information: When you contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and message content.

02

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide, maintain, secure, and improve SlideNote. This includes:

  • Creating and managing your account.
  • Storing and synchronizing your slides, notes, transcripts, and preferences.
  • Providing speech-to-text transcription.
  • Powering AI features, such as content analysis, summaries, and contextual insights.
  • Analyzing usage, improving our services, and providing customer support.
  • Protecting against fraud and security threats, and complying with legal obligations.

AI Model Training: SlideNote does not use your slide files, notes, transcripts, captured audio, or AI inputs and outputs to train our own artificial intelligence models. Third-party AI service providers process content to deliver AI features in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy policies.

03

Data Storage and Retention

SlideNote Account Content: Your slide files, extracted slide data, notes, highlights, transcripts, AI-generated outputs, preferences, and related usage records remain associated with your account until you delete the applicable content or your account, unless longer retention is necessary for legal, security, or other legitimate purposes.

Captured Audio: SlideNote does not store captured audio. Audio is streamed for real-time speech recognition while transcription is active.

Speech Recognition Services: Our speech recognition providers process audio and related data to provide real-time transcription. These providers may temporarily retain information according to their applicable data retention and security practices.

Deletion and Backups: When you delete content or your account, we will delete or deidentify the affected information within a reasonable period. Some information may be retained temporarily in backups or longer when necessary for legal, security, or other legitimate purposes.

04

How We Disclose Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, slide files, notes, transcripts, or captured audio. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We share information with trusted service providers as needed to operate and support SlideNote. These providers help us with account authentication, cloud hosting, data storage, security, usage analytics, speech recognition, artificial intelligence processing, payment processing, and subscription management.

The information shared with each provider depends on the services it performs and is subject to applicable agreements and privacy protections.

Microsoft receives technical and interaction data through Clarity to provide usage analytics. For information about how Microsoft processes this data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to enforce our policies, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect the rights, property, and safety of SlideNote, our users, or others.

If SlideNote is involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and appropriate confidentiality protections.

05

Audio Permissions and Your Controls

Audio capture is optional. When you activate transcription, SlideNote requests the permissions needed for your selected audio source. Depending on your browser and device, you may be asked to allow microphone access or select a tab, window, or screen and share its audio. You can stop sharing audio or manage permissions through your browser or device controls.

SlideNote captures audio only while transcription is active. Ending the transcription session stops audio capture and streaming for speech recognition.

If you deny or revoke audio permissions, transcription will not work. You can still use other SlideNote features that do not require audio access.

06

Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information. You may also have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, including the right to opt out of certain data uses, limit the use of sensitive information, or appeal privacy decisions. We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

You can delete slide decks and their associated content directly in SlideNote. You can also request account deletion through your account settings.

For other privacy requests, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before processing your request. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law.

07

Cookies and Local Storage

SlideNote uses essential cookies, browser storage, and similar technologies as needed to authenticate users, maintain signed-in sessions, protect account security, remember preferences, and manage active application or offline state.

We use Google Analytics, a third-party analytics service, on our website and application. It uses first-party cookies, including _ga and _ga_<container-id>, to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google Analytics receives information about page visits and usage as described above. We do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Microsoft Clarity is configured to receive denied consent signals for analytics and advertising storage, so it operates without Clarity cookies and has limited tracking functionality. We do not grant cookie consent on your behalf. Shared-deck viewing links are excluded from our analytics scripts, and our Clarity integration does not load when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies and locally stored data. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Disabling essential storage may prevent authentication or other SlideNote features from working correctly.

08

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission, cloud service, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for protecting access to your SlideNote account, any email or third-party account you use to sign in, your device, and your active SlideNote sessions.

09

Transcription Responsibility

SlideNote provides transcription tools, but you are responsible for using them lawfully and appropriately. Before capturing or transcribing a lecture, class discussion, meeting, presentation, or other conversation, you must obtain any permission or consent required by applicable law, institutional policy, contractual obligation, or the circumstances.

SlideNote does not determine whether a particular transcription is lawful or permitted. Requirements may differ based on the location of the participants, the nature of the conversation, and applicable school, university, workplace, or organizational policies.

You are also responsible for respecting copyright and other rights relating to slide files, lecture materials, recordings, and transcripts that you upload, create, or retain through SlideNote.

10

Children’s Privacy

SlideNote is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If applicable law requires a higher minimum age for use of the Service or collection of personal information, that higher age applies.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child below the applicable minimum age without legally valid authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided personal information to SlideNote in violation of this section, please contact us at [email protected].

11

International Use

SlideNote and its service providers may process and store information in the United States and other countries where they operate. These locations may have data-protection laws that differ from those in your country or region.

Where required, we take appropriate steps designed to provide lawful safeguards for international transfers of personal information.

12

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to SlideNote, our service providers, our data practices, or applicable legal requirements.
